Conscripts and Fellow Travelers,
First — Much has happened since the last update. The DC Conscripts hosted a virtual Human Wave this year due to COVID considerations, and it was a great success! We had 20 players from the club, around the US and the world! Overall winner was David Deresinski, who earned a copy of the re-release of King and Country from MMP. Hailing from Chicagoland was our second place winner, Richard Domovic. Our own Conscript, Varick Ready, placed third. Richard and Varick records were 3 wins, 1 loss, and were separated by only one point in the scoring system. Congratulations to the winners and all who played in our tournament. Great games were played by all who participated in the spirit of good fun, good sportsmanship and love of ASL!
Second — we have new copies of the journal of ASL Truth, the Red Banner for your reading pleasure. In the latest edition we have a reprise the very popular format from the old General magazine — the game replay with analysis and commentary from the “neutral observer”.
Third — we are taking a tactical pause on our club game days due to pandemic restrictions and hope to start them again in the next couple months. In the meantime you can keep up with the Conscripts here on the web, on our Facebook Group DC Conscripts or at our private Google group.
Roll low!
